We have just been informed that NHS Health Checks (the screening programmed for 40-74 year olds commissoned by Public Health) have been suspended due to budget constraints.  If you have been invited for a health check and you dont yet have your appointment booked please contact us.

Meningitis B

Following the recent news item we would like to reassure you that at the time of writing, there is currently NO Meningitis B Outbreak, just a significant increase in media coverage.

The Meningitis B vaccination is currently available on the NHS for babies born on or after May 31st 2015.

What to do when we are closed over the Christmas and New Year bank holidays 

As the bank holiday approaches it is worth thinking about what you would do if you or a member of your family became unwell over the holiday period.  We recommend that you:-

• stock up on over the counter medicines.  Your pharmacist can also give you advice on treatments and products available.
• check you have enough prescription medicine to see you through the holidays and if you are going away pack enough for at least the duration of your holiday.

Please avoid using emergency/urgent services and hospital A&E departments for routine problems or for problems that can wait until we reopen.

We are closed on Friday 25th December and Monday 28th December.  We are open as usual on Tuesday 29th December, Wednesday 30th December and Thursday 31st December and then closed again on Friday 1st January. 

We are then open again as usual from Monday 4th January 2016.
